Allen & Laura LaTurner
The LaTurners began camping in 1994 when Allen agreed to exchange the bass boat for a travel trailer.
We started with a 26 ft. pull trailer which was perfect for family vacations, week-end trips and visiting relatives (we had our own beds).
Our daughter Christi was in the fifth grade. Sometimes we would invite one of her friends to join us.
In 2000 we traded the little Terry for a 36 ft. King of the Road 5th wheel. The extra space of a 5th wheel was great, and the big Ford dually came in handy when pulling the high school band trailer to all the games. But Allen became tired of the problems with parking such a large 5th wheel.
After searching for two years, we finally found our 38 ft. Winnebago Voyage motorhome in 2007.
Allen is a retired design draftsman who enjoys working with wood. I retired from teaching the year our daughter Christi graduated from college.
Christi lives close by and teaches math in Irving. She enjoys helping her dad in the workshop a.k.a. garage.
We love camping and visiting new places. Every trip has been an adventure with some better than others. In the beginning we visited many Texas state parks, but since retirement we have been able to expand our trips and travel to other states.
Our goal is to visit all 48 states before we quit camping (Alaska and Hawaii donít count). You can check our progress by looking at the map on our motorhome.
We also have many fond memories of trips with our TNSS camping buddies and we look forward to many more.
